Bournemouth University – Ageing Well Together

Katie Adie, the journalist and reporter, did a talk at an event at Bournemouth University put on by the Ageing and Dementia Research Centre.

In a world where people are living longer, there may be more additional needs for older people but also let’s not forget that they have a lot they can give back too. Our view of living as a community needs to adapt and it can do so in a positive way.

There are many aspects of ageing that can have interventions, not necessarily as a cure but to assist.

Did you know, as soon as we are born, we are ageing. So the ageing population does not need to mean the elderly and frail.

With more of the so-called post-war boomer generation living longer and the lowering birthrate, there are some challenges but the UK has the opportunity to innovate and adapt to get the best outcomes.
